You don't lose it trading.
You lose it on tilt.

RiskBrake is a hard lock for your trading platform. Hit your daily loss limit and it locks you out until tomorrow. Reinstalling won't help, changing the clock won't help. That's the whole point.

A lock you can't talk yourself out of.

You already know the rules. RiskBrake is the thing that makes you keep them, even at 3pm on a red day.

You set the rules once

Daily loss limit, max trades per day, cooldown after a losing streak. Configured when you're calm, not when you're tilted.

It enforces them, hard

Limit hit → new entries blocked until the next session. The lock lives on our servers, so deleting or reinstalling the tool changes nothing.

Closing is always allowed

The lock blocks only new entries. You can always reduce or close an open position. Your safety is never in your own way.

Why you can't cheat it.

  • Change the clock? Useless.

The unlock time is decided by our server, not your PC. Your Windows clock is irrelevant.

  • Remove the strategy? Locked out.

Delete the strategy or indicator while the market is open and the guardian locks you out of the trading platform for the rest of the day. Reinstalling just shows the lock again.

  • Need out of a trade? Always.

Closing and reducing positions is never blocked. Only opening new risk is.

Honest note: no tool can stop someone who fully removes it and trades raw, but the penalty lock outlasts the 5-minute tilt impulse it's built to beat. Account-level lockdown is on the roadmap for true hard-enforcement.

What we're building

1

ATAS Guardian

In development

Server-side lock, daily loss limit, max trades, loss-streak cooldown. Clock-change proof, reinstall proof. The platform we trade ourselves.

2

NinjaTrader Guardian

Next

The same protection for the biggest US futures platform, home turf of the prop-firm crowd.

3

MT5 + Account Lockdown

Planned

The ultimate level: optional account-password custody. Locked means locked, on any device, any install. Plus a Windows companion that refuses uninstall while a lock is active.

Questions, answered.

Can it really stop me if I reinstall or change the clock?

Yes. The lock state and the unlock time live on our servers, not your machine. Reinstalling re-fetches the active lock; your system clock is ignored. And if you delete the strategy while the market is open, the guardian locks you out of the trading platform for the rest of the day.

Could the lock trap me in a losing position?

Never. Only new entries are blocked. Closing or reducing an open position always works. That's a hard safety rule.

Which platforms are supported?

ATAS first (in development), NinjaTrader next, MT5 with account lockdown after that. Tell us what you trade on the waitlist.

Is this financial advice?

No. RiskBrake is a self-discipline tool that enforces limits you set yourself. It gives no trading signals and no advice.
